Introduction to Fencing Camps - 3 days      9 am - 12:30 pm

 

             Session 1:  June 9 - 11 (Wed. - Fri.)  

             Session 2:  June 30 - July 2 (Wed. - Fri.)  

             Session 3:  August 2 - 4 (Mon. - Wed.)  

 

These camps are specifically designed for campers with no prior fencing experience.  Campers may participate in our week-long camps after completing one of these camps or our regular 6 week Intro. to Fencing class.

 

Activities include:  fun warm-up games, stretching, history of fencing, footwork and blade work drills, fencing etiquette, and bouting. 

What to Bring...What to Wear

Participants need to bring a snack and water bottle to camp each day.  Participants must wear loose fitting long pants (i.e. sweat pants), short-sleeve t-shirt, and firm fitting athletic shoes.

 

Fee:  $100/session

 


 

Beginner - Competitive Camps -  Monday - Friday     9 am to 3 pm

 

        Session 1:  June 14 - 18        Foil/Epee 

        Session 2:  June 21 - 25        Summer National Prep Camp - Epee/Foil  (no beginners)

        Session 3:  July 19 - 23         Foil/Epee 

 

Camps are open to all levels of fencers unless specified otherwise.  Fencers will be divided into groups according to skill level for bladework, footwork and bouting.

Activities include:  fun warm-up games, stretching, games to develop physical skills, footwork and bladework drills, fencing videos, fencing tactics and techniques, directing, and fencing etiquette.  The week will conclude with a fencing tournament with prizes for all participants.

What to Bring...What to WearParticipants need to bring a snack, sack lunch and water bottle to camp each day (refrigerator and microwave are available).  Participants should wear loose fitting long pants (i.e. sweat pants), short-sleeve t-shirt, and athletic shoes.

           $275 per week or $60 per day    SDFA class members

           $325 per week or $70 per day    Non-SDFA class members

 

    * Pay camp fees in full by June 1st and receive $25 off!

 

    * $50 non-refundable deposit is due upon registration.

Referee Study Clinic/Fencing Camp - July 27 - 30, Tuesday - Friday   9:30 am to 2 pm

 

Come learn the rules necessary to become a certified USFA referee.  We'll go through the Referee Study Guide question by question (general, epee, and foil sections) in preparation to take the Referee Exam.

 

We will supply everything necessary for the study sessions.  Bring your fencing gear to have some fun while we take a break from our work.  Fencers should also bring a snack and sack lunch.

 

Fee:  $125
