COACHES

Matthew Jordan, a Colorado native, is our head coach of Olympic Fencing.  Matt has been involved with the sport of fencing for 22 years.  He is a certified coach with the United States Fencing Association and has completed courses through the National Coaches College and the Black Star Epee Program. Matt has trained hundreds of fencers with some of his top fencers competing internationally. Sixteen of Matt's fencers are nationally ranked with 4 of them in the top 10 in the nation in their respective age groups. Matt overcame a stroke in infancy and, as a fencer himself, went on to become nationally ranked in both foil and epee, making the finals at a number of national tournaments.  He also holds a B.A. in Theology.

Henri Darricau, a Fencing Master, is also a former Olympic fencer.  He started fencing in his early teens. Henri competed at numerous Junior and Senior World Championships in the 1970's as well as the 1984 Olympics.  Henri earned his Brevat D'Etat D'Educateur Sportif, Optiones Escrime (Maitre D'Armes - Fencing Master Degree) from the Institute National de Sports Education Physique in Paris, France and is also an internationally rated referee. Henri coaches our Intermediate Foil classes and gives private lessons.

Jeffrey Miller has been fencing for 11 years, has been nationally ranked for the past 8 years, and internationally ranked for 3 years. He has competed in Germany, Hungary, and Sweden.  Currently he is nationally ranked Junior Men's Epee and Junior Men's Foil.  Jeffrey is an A rated fencer in both epee and foil. He plans to continue competing nationally as well as in NCAA competitions in college representing Penn State University. Jeffrey is also a nationally certified referee for both epee and foil. Jeffrey coaches our Advanced Beginner Foil classes as well as our Intro class at the Goodson Rec Center.

Tom Fuller, a United States Fencing Association certified coach, was introduced to fencing at college. He came back to fencing when his children showed an interest in the sport 5 years ago. When he doesn't have a sword in his hand, Tom works for the US Forest Service.  Tom coaches our youth and adult Intro classes.

Kelsey Crocker is both a nationally ranked fencer and a certified coach with the United States Fencing Association. As a fencer, Kelsey is a rated in both foil and epee. She is also a nationally certified referee for both weapons.  Kelsey coaches our youth foil classes.
