Introduction to Fencing Camps
3 days 9 am – 12:30 pm
Session 1: June 9 - 11 4 spaces available
Session 2: July 14 - 16 FULL
These camps are specifically designed for campers with no prior fencing experience. Campers may participate in our week-long camps or our regular classes after completing one of these camps.
Activities include: fun warm-up games, stretching, history of fencing, footwork and blade work drills, fencing etiquette, and bouting.
What to Bring…What to Wear: Participants need to bring a snack and water bottle to camp each day. Participants must wear loose fitting long pants (i.e. sweatpants), short-sleeve t-shirt, and firm fitting athletic shoes.
Fee: $125/session – Includes the use of club fencing gear + non-competitive membership in USA Fencing
Beginner – Competitive Camps
Monday – Friday 9 am to 3 pm
Session 1: June 14 - 18 Foil/Epee - all levels
Session 2: June 21 - 25 Competitive - Foil/Epee - Foil Level 4 and higher/Competitive epee or with coach invitation
Session 3: July 26 - 30 Foil/Epee - all levels
Camps are open to all levels of fencers with some prior experience unless specified otherwise. Fencers will be divided into groups according to skill level for blade work, footwork and bouting.
Activities include: fun warm-up games, stretching, games to develop physical skills, footwork and blade work drills, fencing videos, fencing tactics and techniques, directing, and fencing etiquette. The week will conclude with a fencing tournament with prizes for all participants.
What to Bring…What to Wear: Participants need to bring a snack, sack lunch and water bottle to camp each day (refrigerator and microwave are available). Participants should wear loose fitting long pants (i.e. sweatpants), short-sleeve t-shirt, and athletic shoes.
$300 per 5-day camp or $65 per day SDFA class members
$350 per 5-day camp or $80 per day Non-SDFA class members
