Our Coaches

Matthew Jordan, a Colorado native, is our head coach. Matt has been involved with the sport of fencing for 30 years. He is a certified coach with the United States Fencing Association and has completed courses through the National Coaches College and the Black Star Epee Program. Matt has trained hundreds of fencers with many of his top fencers competing nationally and internationally. Matt overcame a stroke in infancy and, as a fencer himself, went on to become nationally ranked in both foil and epee, making the finals at a number of national tournaments. He also holds a B.A. in Theology.

Jeffrey Miller, also a Colorado native, has been fencing for 19 years and has been both a nationally and internationally ranked fencer. He has competed in Germany, Hungary, Sweden (three times) and Finland. Jeffrey has been an A rated fencer in both epee and foil. In college, Jeffrey represented Penn State University and was on their 2014 NCAA national championship team. Jeffrey is also a nationally certified referee for both epee and foil. Jeffrey coaches all of our classes from Intro through competitive. He also gives private lessons in both weapons.

Matthew Cole, a graduate from the Daniels School of Business at the University of Denver, came to us from Atlanta, Georgia. Coach Cole is certified to teach fencing by the United States Fencing Coaches Association. He is also a certified referee. Coach Cole loves to fence and competes in local and national competitions. Coach Cole coaches Level 4 and Epee classes and gives private lessons.
